Making money will never be easy. Our ‘how to make $100 USD a day’ should therefore, not be something that you get enticed by and leave everything behind. However, there are many income sources that you probably aren’t even aware of! What’s even better is that you can benefit from these sources without making significant changes to your daily schedule.
How could you do this? Read on to find out!
How to Make $100 USD a Day: 16 Ways To Make $100 A Day
1. Become a freelancer
Now, to get up to $100 a day with freelancing, you might need to work on cheaper projects and gain some experience first. But once you become seasoned in your niche, it will be pretty easy to land gigs that can earn you way more than $100 per day.
Perhaps the most popular freelancing platform out there is Upwork. Upwork has a screening process for new applicants, and it might be challenging to get started here. However, once you hopefully get shortlisted, it should be pretty easy to get started.
Hi, I'm Khalid...
I travel the world and try to live a digital nomad life. Want premium goodies from me? For free?
You might also check other platforms like Freelancer.com, PeoplePerHour, Fiverr, or other generalist platforms where you can find gigs in various industries. But if you are interested in a more specific industry, then there may be a specialized freelance platform for that as well.
We wrote an article about the best freelance websites to get started recently, feel free to check that out as well.
2. Make deliveries
To be fair, making deliveries is also freelancing, but it’s worth mentioning separately.
People don’t always have time to pick up their packages or go shopping for food, and this is where you may step in. Depending on your area and demand, it might not be at all difficult for you to make $100 a day.
The downfall of this income source is that you need to have your own car (bicycles are also accepted in some services). Aside from that, by making deliveries, you will be putting a lot of extra miles on your car, which might be a concern for you if you plan on selling your vehicle in the future.
Fortunately, if you aren’t willing to tax your car, then you could always rent a car. With that said, you’ll need to make sure that your delivery incomes cover your rental costs, or it will all be for nothing.
In Asia (especially where I am from in Bangladesh), this wouldn’t be a ‘high society appropriate job’ as most people still carry the old age mentality of good jobs and bad jobs. However, I think you are way above that if you are reading my blog.
3. Help People Move
This is an extension of the delivery gig. If you have a truck, then it might be worth it to help people move in your spare time and get paid for it. You can sign up for gigs on platforms like Dolly.
With Dolly, you sign up and wait for move notifications in your area. You don’t have to accept every offer – go for only those that are convenient for you.
Moving assistance isn’t for everyone since it has one big prerequisite – a truck or a van that can carry a lot of stuff. But if you have such a vehicle, then sign up on platforms like Dolly and do side gigs whenever you are free.
Don’t have a moving marketplace in your country? How about setting up one? This can be a great business opportunity – especially if you are living in a big city as people are always moving places.
4. Drive for Uber or Lyft
Since you will technically be an independent contractor, you will have full control over how many hours to work per day. Subsequently, you control how much you are making, so $100 daily isn’t far-fetched with Uber or Lyft.
However, do know that when working with these companies, you won’t be getting benefits like paid leave, vacations, minimum wage protections, gas & car maintenance reimbursements, and other perks you would get if you were an employee.
This depends on the country or state you are in though, and things may also change in the future.
I can’t tell you how many internet marketers, hustlers or entrepreneurs I know who support themselves with part-time Uber or Lyft. This has become the norm and there’s no reason why you shouldn’t do the same.
5. Check out Craigslist
Gigs on Craigslist are much more general than what we’ve talked about so far. The range of jobs found on Craigslist goes from cleaning houses and modeling to computer repair. Depending on your expertise and what the client needs, it might be pretty easy to get an answer of that how to make $100 a day question with Craigslist.
But don’t limit yourself to just Craigslist – there are plenty of other similar platforms, such as Angie’s List or Porch. Aside from that, some contractor platforms are specialized in a specific niche, like Houzz in home remodeling.
6. Become an online tutor
Earning money from online teaching is ideal for students and teachers. Aside from that, if you are very good at something, then why not share some tips and tricks with others and get paid for it?
You don’t need to have a Ph.D. or experience to teach people, although credentials like these would probably make you a more trustworthy tutor.
English is probably the most popular teaching direction out there. There are plenty of people willing to learn English, and if you have a great command of the language, then give it a go. Among the platforms where the demand for English tutors is high are VIPKid and QKids, but these are aimed at kids.
Besides, you may try to sign up on platforms like Udemy or Teachable. These are generalist websites, so you can create courses on anything that you have good expertise in and anything that has demand.
While online teaching can bring sizable side income to you, you should understand that you need great communication skills to be successful as a tutor. Even at school, you’ve probably noticed that some people can be great teachers, while most aren’t too remarkable. So even though making $100 a day isn’t difficult with online teaching, you’ll need to have a knack for tutoring.
In fact, online tutoring is how a big chunk of my business revenue comes. I have a course in Bangla (my native language) about internet marketing that does very well with around 1600 students now. I can’t recommend tutoring online highly enough.
7. Flip Books (or Anything Else for that Matter)
The idea of book flipping is taking advantage of price differences between two markets. Essentially, you buy books for cheap in one place and then resell them with a markup in another. It doesn’t have to be with books alone. Once you get the idea and the theory behind, you can ‘flip’ anything.
Probably the most popular kind of books for flipping is textbooks. At the end of the year, students sell their books to their peers or used bookstores. The latter often resell them with markup and make sizable profits when the demand for books spikes at the beginning of the next academic year.
Well, here’s where you might start making money. You could be that book reseller.
A quite well-known variation of flipping textbooks is trading them in on Amazon. For example, if a bookstore offers a biology book for $50 and Amazon offers $65 for trade-in, you could make $15 pretty easily. Your earnings could go much higher if you trade in in a bulk or find several books to flip.
Although book flipping is a great way to quickly make money, it’s certainly not the easiest method. You need some flair to know what books to keep an eye on, when to buy them, and when to resell them. Plus, there’s some luck involved since there are many factors that you cannot control.
Here’s a quick tip. Depending on where you live, head over to Facebook Marketplace and try to find items that are free. While writing this article, I went to Facebook Marketplace and here’s what my free section looked like:
There’s literally 100s of items that people are willing to let go for free. All I have to do now is collect them and relist for sale on eBay, Amazon, your local online marketplaces and holla!
8. Create a Niche Blog
Blogging is all the rage now, and if you put in the time and effort, you can earn much more than just $100 a day. In fact, if you read my case studies, you know that a bulk of my income comes from blogging.
The downfall of making money from a niche site is that it will take a long time for you to get there. Blogs don’t grow big overnight – if you are serious about this kind of thing, then expect to work hard for months without serious income.
But if you are consistent, you’ll get the hang of it and will be able to earn more than ever.
Another downside of blogging is that you have to choose a niche and then develop your blog. These two stages take a lot of research and investment, especially if you hire writers, graphic designers, or SEO experts to do the basics.
9. Participate in Research
Research is a pretty interesting way to make money. It’s certainly not the easiest since you need to be shortlisted for research, but if you do get to participate in one, you could easily earn up to $100 from a single gig!
A good place to start is Respondent.io. This marketplace offers opportunities for both US and international respondents. With that said, if you are in the US, you will probably earn more because local research can get more involved.
10. Get paid for taking surveys
Surveys are like research, but they don’t earn you as much money per single gig. With that said, surveys aren’t as involved as research and requite much less effort from you, meaning that you could go through a lot of surveys daily and reach that goal of $100.
One place where you could earn money on surveys is Swagbucks. Here, you are getting up to 200SB points for participating in a survey. Once you’ve got enough points, you could redeem them for gift cards or PayPal cash.
Most surveys here give much fewer points than 200 though – expect to get 5-10 points for most surveys. Due to this, it can be quite difficult to earn points equivalent to $100 daily – the process can be really grindy.
However, if you have a lot of free time on your hands, then why not give it a try?
Caution: Most survey sites are fake. They will entice you with offers. Be careful and don’t pay someone to make money online (use your brain).
11. Become a respondent
Becoming a respondent is like taking a survey, but it’s a little tougher. Basically, what you’ll do is share your opinion in research studies. This is more difficult to do than surveys because you will need to show that you are competent about the subject. However, since there is more effort involved, you will get paid much better, although maybe not as good as when participating in research.
The best way to find respondent opportunities is to look at notice boards on your university, college, etc. Remember, you can do that online as well as most schools will publish their notices online.
12. Test websites
Quality assurance is a big part of website development, but not every website owner has time to do it on their own. Here’s where you can potentially earn a $100 daily. And depending on the gig, you may earn this amount of money in just a few hours!
When testing a website, you are asked to look around its webpages, try out forms, widgets, as well as check how its functions work. Aside from that, you will provide feedback about the website, its intuitiveness, ads, layout, or whatnot.
Expect to spend about half an hour on testing a typical website and get around $10 per test. Based on these numbers, it would take you 5 hours a day to make $100. But depending on the website and the nature of the testing, you may earn more or less per website.
Once again, finding test website gigs can be difficult. Most of them are on freelance marketplaces, so that can be a good place to get started.
13. Review music
If you love music, then you’ll be glad to hear that you can earn money by listening to and reviewing music online. To earn $, you listen to tracks by unsigned artists and bands and submit reviews. You earn money for each submitted review, and how much you get depends on your rating, the number of songs you’ve rated in the past, and a few other factors.
Earning money by reviewing music can be pretty grindy. Aside from that, in the beginning, music review platforms don’t give you many offers. But as you review more and more songs, you will be provided with more gigs.
14. Get paid for walking
This one can be done with an interesting app called Sweatcoin. For every 1,000 steps, the app will give you 1 Sweatcoin. According to the publisher, the exchange rate of this currency varies from time to time – from as low as $1 for 1 Sweatcoin to as high as $1 for 80 Sweatcoins. But mostly, the exchange rate is sitting around $1 for 50 Sweatcoins.
As of this post’s writing, Sweatcoins weren’t able to be cashed out. However, they could be redeemed for Amazon and other marketplace vouchers (and then you can sell those vouchers for cash).
Depending on the current exchange rate of Sweatcoin, making $100 a day might be from nearly impossible to relatively easy. With this in mind, you may want to combine Sweatcoin with another earning method from our top. This is just a fun one, it wouldn’t replace your current job anytime soon.
15. Place ads on your car
Driving around the town often? Then you could place ads on your car and get paid for it.
One platform through which you could monetize your car is Wrapify. However, to get started, you have to download the app and drive over 50 miles to become eligible for an ad campaign. Depending on the campaign, you’ll have ads on your car from 1 to 12 months.
Don’t have an app in your area? Once again, it might be interesting to think about starting a business like this.
16. Save money on utilities + Dumb Things
Although this isn’t a method that will directly earn you money, it’s a pretty good way to land $100 nonetheless. If you are able to make your home more cost-efficient, then you could direct your savings towards other purposes. You could perhaps get even more than $100 depending on how optimized your household is already.
Think about how much electricity or gas you are using and whether you can use less without detrimental effects on your comfort. Aside from that, if you still have old appliances, try to replace them – new devices are often very energy-efficient. Insulating your home could allow you to save money on heating and cooling as well.
Consider going smart – smart homes are often more energy-efficient than their non-smart counterparts, though this depends on how you are managing your appliances.
More importantly, stop buying dumb things. An average American buys 60+ items of clothing every calendar year. Do you really need that many dresses, t-shirts, cellphone covers?
Earlier this year (in 2020), I have decided to limit my clothing to only black and white t-shirts. I bought 6 black t-shirts and 6 white t-shirts to limit myself and it is going great. I don’t think about what I have to wear the next day, the t-shirts are cheap and my ‘fashion life’ has become a lot simpler.
If you already own a lot of dumb things, it might be a good idea to sell some of those first.
Tips For Earning $100 A Day
And to close off our post, let us give you a couple of tips on earning $100 daily. Besides, we’ll talk about what you should expect when chasing extra cash.
Pay attention to how you are getting paid
First of all, pay attention to how you are getting paid. Not every platform pays you with cash – some offer Amazon gift cards or points that you can redeem for cash, gift cards, or other goods.
For most people, cash payments would be preferable since they are more transparent. Virtual points do not have value and are thus much less trustworthy. But this doesn’t mean that platforms like Swagbucks are scammy.
Even if the platform pays with cash, you should still check how you are getting paid. Some pay out exclusively through PayPal, for example. PayPal accounts in some countries cannot receive and withdraw money, so things like these are definitely worth more research.
The less effort, the less money
The phrase “it’s too good to be true” somewhat applies to quick ways to make money online. For example, by taking surveys, you can earn cash without much effort. However, you will have to grind surveys to earn significant amounts of cash.
In contrast, the more difficult the job is, the more money you will earn from a single gig. Moving furniture, repairing plumbing, or participating in research take a lot of effort and time. But they are valued accordingly, as well as are perhaps more interesting than spending hours each day taking surveys.
With this in mind, we’d suggest that you direct most of your effort towards challenging but highly-paid gigs and activities.
Know that it may take time to get there
With most of the listed ways to make $100 daily, the initial steps will be difficult. Without completed jobs and ratings, you will have a much harder time persuading people on Craigslist or Upwork to hire you and no one other. Likewise, if you are into blogging, it will take a lot of time for you to achieve a steady audience.
In the beginning, expect to have to do jobs for much less money than you would like. Besides, as mentioned above, understand that you won’t be landing jobs as easily. But as you complete gigs, you will gain more weight on the platform, making it easier for you to land new projects.
Know that your income may not be consistent
Also know that even once you get there, you aren’t guaranteed consistent income. Demand may change over time significantly, especially during natural disasters or pandemics. Besides, the nature of your job may change, and if you are unable to adapt, you may find that your expertise is no longer relevant.
Aside from that, you won’t be able to get a continuous stream of jobs in every industry. For example, if you want to participate in research, you might be unable to take part in more than one research every couple of days because they are difficult to get shortlisted for.
With this in mind, you should be always on the lookout for what’s going on in your industry. Besides, you should always have a backup plan, which brings us to the next point.
Combine different ways of making money
If your current gig doesn’t take your entire day, then you might want to think about doing something extra. This will add some security to your income, as well as will make it easier for you to earn $100 a day or perhaps even more.
Don’t focus just on one thing. To expand on our example of research given in the previous point, while you do not have active research projects, drive for Uber, do deliveries, or work as a freelance writer. Spend your time efficiently and be busy– this should allow you to diversify your job profile and earn money more or less consistently regardless of what’s going on in the industry.
Keep your schedule in mind
To make most out of your time, you should pick methods that work for your daily schedule. For example, if you aren’t driving often, then car ads wouldn’t work very well for you. Likewise, if you aren’t walking often, then Sweatcoin is going to disappoint you. Pick a few activities that work best for what you are doing already.
Is it easy to make $100 daily? This depends on how committed you are and how much time you have.
But if you follow our tips, then you shouldn’t struggle with landing an extra $100 every single day. Most importantly, be consistent, don’t waste time, and focus on higher-earning gigs.
And, of course, don’t expect easy money – you will have to work for it. But once you get the hang of the process, having a daily income of $100 shouldn’t stay a dream for too long.
